The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office MIMAROPA conducted a two-day site visitation in selected barangays of Brooke’s Point and Bataraza, Palawan, to monitor the ongoing implementation of Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) at BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency Through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) under the Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM).

The site visits took place in Barangays Tubtub and Pangobilian in Brooke’s Point, as well as Barangay Bono-Bono in Bataraza. This activity was held on June 9–10, 2025.

Program implementation was assessed to ensure alignment with its objectives and engaged with community members and evaluate their sustained commitment to community-based climate resilience and livelihood initiatives.

Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) focuses on water-related initiatives such as constructing small farm reservoirs, restoring lakes, and rehabilitating irrigation systems.

Project BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency Through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) supports food security through rice and vegetable production, including the establishment of communal and school-based gardens.
