The DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA, through the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD), successfully concluded the second part of the Fostering Community Resilience through Community Organizing and Development training on July 10, 2025.
Engr. Marvin Trillana, PDO IV and CBS Head of KALAHI-CIDSS, served as the Resource Speaker, sharing valuable insights on enhancing the organizational, financial, and project management skills of DRMD staff and Risk Resiliency Program (RRP) focal persons.
Rooted in community organizing and people-centered development, the training equipped participants with practical tools and approaches to plan, implement, and evaluate impactful programs from the ground up.
The sessions used the ADDIE model and core project management principles to guide participants through hands-on learning experiences.
Beyond technical skills, the training also emphasized shared values, stakeholder engagement, and aligning strategies with community goalsโ€”vital for fostering disaster preparedness and sustainable, community-led development across the MIMAROPA region.
