To ensure the continuous and efficient delivery of assistance to disaster-affected communities, Assistant Regional Director and Concurrent Disaster Response and Management Division (DRMD) Chief Sheila S. Tapia convened a coordination meeting today with key technical staff to discuss the current situationer and response efforts of DSWD MIMAROPA, July 25.
The meeting focused on the increasing number of affected families and the augmentation of ongoing interventions across the region.
As highlighted in the latest Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) Report, the Department has already mobilized significant resources, including the prepositioning of family food packs, provision of non-food items, and close coordination with Local Government Units (LGUs) to support immediate needs on the ground.
Key updates on the ongoing response operations which include: continuous delivery of relief goods to hardest-hit areas, monitoring and validation of reported affected families for targeted response, and coordination with LGUs for localized response and data sharing and reconciliation of reports were also discussed.
Following the meeting, the situationer and recommended actions were immediately reported to DSWD MIMAROPA Regional Director Leonardo C. Reynoso, CESO III for further instructions and directives to strengthen and streamline the Departmentโ€™s disaster response operations.
