IN PHOTOS: To bolster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of experiences among participants from both Luzon and the Visayas regions, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA participated in the Experiential Exchange Learning ofΒ Project LAWA at BINHI, on 8-11 April 2025, Region VII.
It also served as a platform to showcase successful practices, discuss strategies for regional growth, sustainable resource use, and community-led initiatives, with the aim of strengthening inter-regional partnerships and fostering opportunities for meaningful learning and connection.
Spearheaded by the Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB), the exchange visit began with a session that outlined the objectives and expected outcomes of the learning activity. One of the key discussions was led by DRMB Director Maria Isabel Lanada, Ph.D who provided updates and guidance on the implementation of Project LAWA at BINHI programs.
Participants visited Project LAWA at BINHI sites in Brgy. Capalasanan in Lazi, Brgy. Canlasog in Larena, and Brgy. Catulayan in San Juan. Afterward and reflected on the experience and shared their learnings. Focal persons from each group presented the good practices observed during the activity.
Project LAWA at BINHI aligns with DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalianβs directive to develop sustainable and practical solutions to address the ongoing water and food shortages exacerbated by El NiΓ±o and La NiΓ±a.
