IN PHOTOS: 500 partner-beneficiaries from the municipalities of San Jose, Rizal, Santa Cruz, Paluan, and Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro have completed the three stages of the Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) at BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency Through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished).

The implementation commenced last March 17, 2025 with a three-day Cash for Training on Learning and Development Sessions and ended officially on April 22, 2025 with the two-day Cash-for-Training on Sustainability Strategies.

Among the accomplished projects under LAWA at BINH are Clearing and Rehabilitation of Water System from Spring (source) to IP communities, Small Farm Reservoirs, Mangrove Plantation Nursery, Communal Vegetable Garden, Expanded and Improved existing communal vegetable garden, establishment of Bamboo Nursery, and an Integrated Farm.

The partner-beneficiaries are set to receive their financial assistance for their participation and contributions in the projects, days after the completion of the implementation.

Project LAWA at BINHI aligns with the directive of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian to pursue sustainable and practical solutions in response to ongoing water and food shortages, worsened by the El Niño and La Niña phenomena.
